We’ve been liaising with a working group of students' unions over the past few months to develop the Meal Deal for this coming year so we could understand, especially against a very challenging cost-of-living backdrop, what you were looking for...

You asked for the option of different selling prices i.e. regional differences/product content for trade up, value for money, flexibility of offer.

You also told us your margin expectations were different so could we look at tiered pricing. 

We took your requirements away to negotiate with the suppliers and to see if we could meet those differing requests whilst maintaining the integrity of the Meal Deal to ensure we could continue to raise similar levels of funding and make sure the audit profile didn’t become too complicated.

We also need to consider point of sale if flexibility is required – so how can we do this?

At Trade Show, we'll be showcasing the thoughts of the working group to enable you to feedback. You won’t see the finalised Meal Deal as it’s important to us for you to have a say so post show, we can go back and make the final amends so the Meal Deal is ready to launch by 1 September.  Do come along to the NUS stand and give us your feedback.
