NUS Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + (LGBT+) campaign exists to represent LGBT+ students and extend and defend their rights. We are an autonomous campaign, meaning we are led by LGBT+ students in our governance and decision-making processes.
The officers, committee and policies are decided at the summer conference, which is attended by LGBT+ student representatives from around the country. The officers and committee are bound by our policies but can make decisions on interim policy between conferences.
Throughout the year we work to better the lives of LGBT+ students’ and towards freedom from oppression and discrimination. We do this through campaigning, activism, research, and training which we develop with the input of LGBT+ students.
Beth Douglas (Women’s Place) and Noorulann Shahid (Open Place) are the national officers for 2017-18. You can get in touch with the campaign at firstname.lastname@example.org and follow us on Twitter.
