Careers in Students Unions and recruitment guidance

Careers in Students Unions

Our dedicated careers site is there to help students' unions advertise their job vacancies in one place, to help attract and recruit talented people to the sector.

The NUS Charity team supports the running of this site and we work to ensure your job advert is seen by diverse audiences, across various media and social platforms so that you talented people see your job adverts and apply to join your teams.  Furthermore, we offer this service at significantly lower rates than you will find on other charity job advertising boards - click here for pricing details for su.careers

From February 2021, as NUS Charity Members you can also now advertise your trustee vacancies completely free of charge, so we can give you the best support possible to recruit talented external trustees to join your boards.

What to do next:

We also want to help you showcase the amazing workplaces that are students' unions and are always looking for stories to include on our SU People pages to help candidates to see the possibilities and opportunities in students' unions.

If you have a question, or would like to feature a story on there places please do contact studentsunions.careers@nus.org.uk

Recruiting Coordinators Toolkit

We've been working with a group of students' unions in the London area on their challenges around attracting, recruiting, selecting and developing talent, particularly Coordinators. By focussing on this group, we hope to apply that learning to help attract and retain talented people to develop their careers in students' unions.

We have created a set of supporting resources, broken down into nine areas. You can download them individually below or as one document here.
