Faith and Belief Initiatives Funding

Every year the Campus Cohesion, Faith and Belief Project, funds both further and higher education students’ unions and student groups/ societies to create activities to celebrate interfaith and belief work throughout the year.

Particularly activities that build good faith and belief relations on campus and fulfil the criteria below. The funding process opens in August each year and there is up to £500 available.

  • Encourage engagement between faith societies (for example setting up an Interfaith Forum)
  • Increase understanding amongst students about different religions and beliefs (for example with speaker events; visits to places of worship; campaigns or a multi-faith fair/celebration)
  • Increases dialogue and collaborative action (for example Muslim-Jewish dialogue group for Women students or a volunteer project in your local community) and/or
  • Funding will be allocated on basis of proven need where students’ unions don’t have sufficient funds to provide additional resource to create such activities
  • Funding must go towards supporting activities that are not already available to students on campus projects which facilitate a campaigning focus
  • Projects that bring together a wide range of community local community members.
  • Projects that look to tackle a local social or political issue which communities and campus faith and belief groups feel strongly about.
