Anti-Islamophobia training for students' union staff

We’ve created an awareness programme aimed at equipping students' union staff with a deeper understanding of Islamophobia and it's impact within our movement.

As staff in students’ unions, we're committed to fostering a more equitable environment - one where all students, officers and staff feel safe, and where we have the knowledge and skills to support our staff, officers and students in building inclusive spaces.

An important step in this journey is developing the language, emotional intelligence, and confidence needed to recognise Islamophobia, take meaningful action, and work collectively to support our staff, officers, and students in striving for more equitable students’ unions and movement.

In this programme we will explore:

  • An introduction to Islam
  • What is Islamophobia?
  • Everyday Islamophobia
  • Islamophobia, intersectionality and other forms of oppression
  • Islamophobia and the movement
  • Strategies for combating Islamophobia

We will also come together for two follow up guided action sessions , ensuring that we keep momentum for supporting eachother in applying our learning.

Event details

The programme costs £329 per delegate + VAT and you'll receive:

  • 6 hours in person session with a specialist facilitator
  • Two follow up guided action sessions with a facilitator and peers, making sure we continue to support one another in applying what we've learned.
  • A training workbook to accompany your learning with extra information & space for your notes
