Fuel surcharges

Friday 29-05-2026 - 07:34

Due to ongoing increases in transportation and logistics costs, some of our suppliers are increasing service costs.  We'll use this space to share any updates we receive.

Message from AF Blakemore

I am writing to inform you of a temporary adjustment to our rates in response to ongoing volatility in fuel costs, which continues to place significant pressure on transport and operational expenses across the supply chain.
The introduction of this temporary fuel surcharge reflects the sustained increase and ongoing volatility in fuel prices. Despite continued efforts to mitigate these pressures through efficiency measures, the scale and duration of recent fuel cost increases can no longer be absorbed without impacting service delivery.
The surcharge is therefore intended to partially offset these exceptional cost pressures, support operational continuity, and ensure we can continue to provide reliable and high-quality services. This measure will be kept under regular review and adjusted or removed as fuel costs stabilise.

We are writing to inform you of an important change to our delivery charges. Due to the ongoing fuel crisis and the significant increase in fuel costs, we have had to make the difficult decision to introduce a £2.00 fuel surcharge on all deliveries.
This change will take effect from Monday, 27th April.
We understand that any increase in costs is not ideal, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. However, the continued rise in fuel prices has left us with no alternative. This surcharge is a necessary step to allow us to maintain our delivery service and continue providing the level of reliability and quality you expect from us.
Please be assured that this decision has not been taken lightly, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and continued support during this time.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
