The Welsh Government has issued guidance for initial teacher training providers and students. 

• PGCE / Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) / Teach First (TF) students - Your training provider will be able to assess your suitability for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) based on existing academic work and placements undertaken.
• Level 4 and 5 Undergraduates (Usually Years 1 and 2) - The Welsh Government will work with your training provider to decide how your placement shortfall will be made up in future years.
• Level 6 Undergraduates (Usually Year 3) - Your training provider will be able to assess your suitability for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) based on existing academic work and placements undertaken.
• International students - The Welsh Government will work with your training provider and will issue further guidance when they have an idea of numbers of students affected.
