Holocaust Memorial Day

Welcome to the Holocaust Memorial Day Hub -
a selection of resources and tools curated in collaboration with the Union of Jewish Students.
Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place each year on 27 January to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, alongside the millions of other people killed under Nazi Persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.
Each year across the UK, thousands of people come together to learn more about the past and take action to create a safer future. Together with the Union of Jewish Students, NUS has created the Holocaust Memorial Day hub to encourage students to reflect and support students' unions to host activites commemorating HMD on campus.
Here, you will find information on Holocaust Memorial Day, a guide on how your students' union can take part with a selection of useful resources, including films, poems, a Living Memory booklet, as well as the possibilty of hosting on campus the celebrated play: A Lizard's Tale.
